SALES AND MORTGAGE VOLUME CONTINUE TO TUMBLE!

REPORT OF BARNSTABLE COUNTY REAL ESTATE ACTIVITY
FOR THE MONTH OF JULY 2022
Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in July 2022 was down 26.4% from July 2021 volume and the total value of sales was down 14.8% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 17.4% from the previous year. There was a 40% decrease in the volume of mortgage activity from July 2021 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is down 19.5%; Total Value of Sales is down 0.4%; Individual Sales Value is up 14.2%; Mortgage Volume is down 38.7%.
Register Meade reports that there were 543 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in July 2022 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $432,901,177.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in July 2022 was $600,000.00.
There were 916 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in July 2022 with a total value of $471,449,655.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $323,274.00.
By way of comparison, there were 738 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in July 2021 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $507,820,995.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in July 2021 was $511,000.00.
There were 1,526 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in July 2021 with a total value of $642,156,899.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $323,962.00.
