REPORT OF BARNSTABLE COUNTY REAL ESTATE ACTIVITY
FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY 2018
Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in February 2018 was up 11.5% from February 2017 volume and the total value of sales was up 18.5% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 8.5% from the previous year. There was a 6.8% decrease in the volume of mortgage activity from February 2017 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is up 6.8%; Total Value of Sales is up 15.5%; Individual Sales Value is up 2.9%; Mortgage Volume is down 9.4%.
Register Meade reports that there were 406 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in February 2018 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $218,104,226.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in February 2018 was $363,500.00.
There were 785 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in February 2018 with a total value of $300,840,305.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $250,000.00.
By way of comparison, there were 364 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in February 2017 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $184,051,505.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in February 2017 was $335,000.00.
There were 842 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in February 2017 with a total value of $321,044,826.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $247,500.00.
