Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in June 2014 was up 12.1% from June 2013 volume and the total value of sales was up 16.8% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 3.8% from the previous year. There was a 32% decrease in the volume of mortgage activity from June 2013 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is up 0.5%; Total Value of Sales is up 4.7%; Individual Sales Value is up 4.3%; Mortgage Volume is down 45.9%.
Register Meade reports that there were 721 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in June 2014 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $322,907,218.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in June was $332,000.00.
There were 1,025 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in June with a total value of $354,926,518.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $237,000.00.
By way of comparison, there were 643 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in June 2013 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $276,365,070.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in June was $320,000.00.
There were 1,508 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in June with a total value of $434,852,528.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $230,000.00.
